And more than ever believers were added to the Lord.

Acts 5:12-16, Now many signs and wonders were regularly done among the people by the hands of the apostles. And they were all together in Solomon’s Portico. None of the rest dared join them, but the people held them in high esteem. And more than ever believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, so that they even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mats, that as Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on some of them. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

It is amazing to think about these miracles, and we wonder why it is that God would not still move in this way. We also see Jesus telling some of his followers that the only reason they were following Him was that He fed them with the miracle of the loaves and fish, and they thought they had found a better way to get food. The most amazing miracle of all is that God is able to open the eyes of a person’s heart and to unstop their ears that they may come to faith in Jesus, not for healing that is temporary or bread that is consumed and gone, but for salvation and eternal life. And even more amazing, He wants to use us in His plan!
