Once for all when He offered up Himself.
Hebrews 7:27-8:2, He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever. Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the holy places, in the true tent that the Lord set up, not man.
We are blessed to live in a time of the new covenant God has established, which does not depend upon the sacrifice of bulls and goats that could only remind us of our great need for an intercessor before a Holy God. He has taken all of our sin, all that we give Him, to the cross where He has put it away as far as the east is from the west! When the Father sees us He sees us through that sacrifice, fully justified and righteous, His justice fully met by what Christ has done for us. “He who had no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God.” All is forgiven as we boldly come before His amazing throne of grace to receive mercy in our time of need! That is indeed good news!
We thank You for Your amazing good news, the gospel, setting us free from the power of sin, and putting death to death on the cross by rising from the grave!
