But God.

Ephesians 2:4-7, But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Dead means just that: dead, unable to function, unable to do anything on our own to resolve our own offenses against God. All throughout scripture we see these marvelous words, “But God,” who moves on our behalf to do what we could never do. By His marvelous grace He has seen our condition and raised us to a new position, that we may bring glory to His name as we give thanks for the immeasurable riches we have in Him. How amazing indeed is His grace toward us! Do we see ourselves as He has raised us up and seated us in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus?

We thank You for Your amazing grace, for showing us Your immeasurable riches and Your wonderful kindness toward us in Christ Jesus!
