He continues forever.
Hebrews 7:23-26, The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.
The law had no power to make anything perfect, it is only capable of showing us our great need to be made perfect. And Jesus did not need to be cleansed as the former priests, for He is the only priest without spot or blemish. He is eternal and able to save all those who call upon His name and draw near to God through Him. He has made once for all time the perfect sacrifice of His own blood, for “whosoever will.” The only sacrifice we may bring today is a sacrifice of praise, for He has done it all!
We praise Your amazing grace and provision for us, to save us to the uttermost, to cleanse us and to intercede for us, to adopt us as Your own!
