God has granted repentance that leads to life.

Acts 11:15-18, As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand in God’s way?” When they heard these things they fell silent. And they glorified God, saying, “Then to the Gentiles also God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Peter fell under criticism of the other early believers as they began to realize the amazing gift that we have been given in Christ. Formerly through Abraham and Moses, God had called forth a select nation as His own; now He widens the scope of His calling to all nations and all who will believe int the Lord Jesus. And He is ready to give His good gifts to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ! He has granted repentance that leads to life to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. What amazing grace He has granted us; what amazing gifts He has in store for us!

We thank You for Your amazing grace, for baptizing us with the Holy Spirit, for pouring out Your gifts and for granting us repentance that leads to life!
