“Do you believe in the Son of Man?”

John 9:35-39, Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and having found him he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” He answered, “And who is he, sir, that I may believe in him?” Jesus said to him, “You have seen him, and it is he who is speaking to you.” He said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.

At first, the man healed of his blindness recognized Jesus as a prophet, one to be esteemed as Elijah or many others. Now, Jesus reveals Himself to this man and challenges him to believe. As we know, even the demons believe. But they will not do what this man does, and what we do when we recognize Him as the promised Seed, Messiah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Son of God yet one of us: Son of Man, perfected and sinless, the promised Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. What can we do but join in worship of Him?

You are worthy, Lord Jesus; we worship and stand in awe of You!
