Jesus withdrew again.
John 6:14-15, When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, “This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!” Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
There were those who saw His power and yet did not believe that He is the Son of God; they saw only their own desires and ambitions for the things of this world. They saw the power that He had and wanted to use it only for a temporal purpose. His power goes far beyond this world to things eternal, when we lay down our lives before Him and allow Him to be who He is, King of King and Lord of Lords. Am I laying down my own pride and sinfulness before Him to be transformed by His grace, to be used in His kingdom?
We surrender all temporal desire before Your mighty throne of grace; use us today in Your kingdom, O Lord!
