Think with sober judgment.

Romans 12:3-5, For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.

Paul brings faith and gifting down to a personal level. God is the giver of all good gifts, faith being one of them. He has also gifted each of us in many other ways, with opportunities and blessings that other people never had, and entrusted resource to us as his stewards. Do we look for ways to build each other up or do we conform to the ways of the world in exalting ourselves? How am I going to use all that he has given me today to glorify God?

We bow before you with thanksgiving for all that you have entrusted to us; give us opportunities to use all that you have entrusted to me to bring glory to your name today, O Lord.
