Put on the new self.
Ephesians 4:20-24, But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
We are invited to an active participation in Christ, that our minds may be transformed continually each day by turning to him, confessing our sins, receiving his forgiveness and his cleansing from all unrighteousness. We begin the day by making a choice about what clothes we will put on; he gives us the opportunity to choose to put on the new self, created in his image! Will we choose to pursue our former manner of life, “corrupt through deceitful desires,” or to speak the truth in love to ourselves and to put on the new life in Christ?
Conform us to the mind of Christ today and transform us by the renewing of our minds!
