A plan for the fullness of time.

Ephesians 1:7-10, In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

The world looks upon Christ in many different ways, and sees him as some kind of zealous teacher ultimately martyred for no reason. Yet he has impacted our world profoundly in many ways, the most important being the remission of sin. For between unredeemed man and God there is a great gulf that no man can cross; it is only the divine plan of God that redeems us and unites all things in him. No man devised his plan that the Son of God would become the Son of Man to set us free by the power of his blood. “For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

We thank you for Jesus Christ who has lavished upon us the riches of his grace that we may boldly approach your throne of grace to receive mercy in our time of need!
