Angels in festal gathering.

Hebrews 12:21-24, Indeed, so terrifying was the sight that Moses said, “I tremble with fear.” But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

When God spoke from the mountain the sight was so terrifying that the people asked that God speak to them only through Moses. And even so, when he returned from the presence of God his face shone so brightly that they could not stand to be in his presence, but covered his face with a veil. Perhaps we underestimate the holiness and glory of God? Fortunately we are under a new covenant of the sprinkled blood of Christ which has “cancelled the record of debt” that stands against us with its legal demands. By his blood we can boldly approach his throne of grace to receive mercy in our time of need!

We boldly approach your throne of grace covered by the blood of Christ to receive your mercy in our time of need!
