Set the mind on the Spirit.

Romans 8:3-6, For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

This is the good news, the gospel of Jesus Christ in a nutshell. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” He died that we might live, be justified, be set apart for his glory! We are adopted into his family, and given access to his mind living according to his Spirit. The most amazing thing is that he is ready to give us the gift of his Spirit if only we will ask: “If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

We gratefully ask for your Holy Spirit; set our minds upon his things, that we may live according to the Spirit to have true life and peace.
