A disciple of Jesus.

John 19:38-40, After these things Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus, and Pilate gave him permission. So he came and took away his body. Nicodemus also, who earlier had come to Jesus by night, came bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds in weight. So they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the burial custom of the Jews.

Two men who were Jesus’ disciples in secret now go public and prepare his body for burial. Nicodemus was one of the rulers, and Joseph was a member of the council that condemned Jesus to death in an illegal trial. They threw aside their own positions to become publicly known as his disciples becoming bold in their faith even before they knew of the amazing resurrection to come in a few days. Am I willing to let go of all worldly position to be bold in his name?

Give us this boldness to be your disciples no matter what the cost.
