The Lord’s doing.

Mark 12:10-11, Have you not read this Scripture: “‘The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?”

Seemingly the cross is the ultimate rejection of Jesus; yet instead it fulfills the prophecy about him, that he would be a suffering servant, he would not have a place to lay his head and that he would be like a lamb slaughtered, opening not his mouth against his accusers. It is the Lord’s doing, for as he is raised from the dead, he is the chief cornerstone. As Peter says he is a “living stone, rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious.” He calls us who believe in him living stones as well, being “built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood.” We are called as living sacrifices, offering up a sacrifice of praise!

We join with others shouting out a sacrifice of praise as living stones in your spiritual house!
