The witness they had borne.
Revelation 6:9, When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne.
The early believers knew the meaning of this. All but one of the apostles died as a martyr, refusing to deny that Jesus had risen from the dead to save their own lives. There are parts of the world today where this is still happening, and like the early apostles they do not fear man who can kill the body. How does our faith measure up to this?
Lord, increase our faith; strengthen all who are faithful witnesses around the world for You!
