Not because of your righteousness.
Deuteronomy 9:6, “Know, then, it is not because of your righteousness that the LORD your God is giving you this good land to possess, for you are a stubborn people.”
The people who entered the Promised Land were given a great blessing that they did not earn. We who come to Him and are saved by His grace through faith need to remember that even our faith is a gift from Him. It’s not because we are so righteous and deserving that He has called and saved us, but because of His great mercy. Of what can I boast except in Him?
You have done it all, we thank You for the gift of faith and Your great mercy upon us through Your cross Lord Jesus.
