Keeping faith and a good conscience.

1 Timothy 1:18-19, This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may fight the good fight, keeping faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and suffered shipwreck in regard to their faith.

Good conscience seems to be in short supply these days, even among believers. Should we be so blessed as to receive a prophecy as did Timothy, we can decide now to take Paul’s advice, to take it seriously, and to recognize that we will have a fight on our hands. But that fight is fought with the most marvelous gift that He gives us, the gift of faith. And when our spirit agrees with His Spirit, we operate good conscience.

Lead me in Your ways, O Lord; let me not reject Your words of life for my own life!
