By faith.
1 Timothy 1:3-4, As I urged you upon my departure for Macedonia, remain on at Ephesus, in order that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith.
Paul reminds us that we have enough truth in scripture to bring others to faith in Jesus Christ, and that we should keep “the main thing the main thing.” While it’s certainly true that there are other useful things to learn in the world, without faith we are indeed hopeless; we know for sure that “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Help me to keep my focus on You, to build my faith and to see others come to know You!
