Undistracted devotion to the Lord.
1 Corinthians 7:35, And this I say for your own benefit; not to put a restraint upon you, but to promote what is seemly, and to secure undistracted devotion to the Lord.
Paul makes it very clear that he is not teaching against marriage, he’s simply recognizing the reality of life and encouraging us to be devoted to the Lord. In our own married life, we find that we complement each other and are more than we could ever be by ourselves. Indeed, there are distractions, but many times they lead us to touch the lives of others with His love that would never have happened without them. We can pray to come closer to this ideal of undistracted devotion to the Lord.
Use all that we are and all that we do in Your incredible plan; keep us devoted to You today, O Lord.
