The one who examines me is the Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:4, For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.
This weekend, we had a wonderful day of retreat with teaching from a fabulous teacher about the sovereignty of God and His amazing providence in our lives. He reminded us of the truth of scripture found in 1 John 1:9, that when we confess our sins He not only forgives us our sins that we know about and confess, but also He goes further than that: He cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Not just some of our unrighteousness, all of it! As one of the liturgical prayers reminds us, He forgives us our sins, “known and unknown, things done and left undone.” It is indeed He who upholds us by the power of His Holy Spirit.
All of our hope is in You, O Lord!
