The surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
Philippians 3:8, More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ…
Paul certainly had worldly power and prestige as he punished believers in the resurrected Christ. And all that came to an end when He was called by the risen Christ on the road to Damascus. All that had been so important was lost in knowing Him. Have we come to that recognition that He is greater than anything we may ever find upon the face of the earth? It’s easy to be fascinated with the things of this life; do we really see the “surpassing value of knowing Christ?”
Come, Lord Jesus, reveal Yourself that we might be transformed to bring glory to Your name!
