In order that you may know that you have eternal life.
1 John 5:13, These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life.
When we put all of our trust in Him, we get the certainty that John speaks of here. For if any part of this promise depends upon me or any other fallen human, there is no certainty. Since it all depends upon Him and His finished work on the cross, we can be confident and know that we have His marvelous gift of eternal life. Truly, He has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly!
We thank You that we can enter in to Your promises with the confidence that You give us; thank You for blessing us so richly, that we may be a blessing!
