This commandment we have from Him.

1 John 4:21, And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

It’s easy to love mankind, or to love God in the abstract; what’s really hard is to love others or at least treat them with respect! Our culture bases love upon performance, upon liking someone. Where would we have been if that was God’s attitude towards us?

Give me Your heart for others, help me to see them as You see them, to be Your hands, eyes and ears, that others may come to know You!
