Love ... in deed and truth.
1 John 3:18, Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
Too many times we are moved to make some great spiritual pronouncement "with word or with tongue." John encourages us to say less and show our love with our deeds and truth. It’s far easier to come up with a pious platitude, but it may be far more effective when we choose to remain silent and do something to help instead. Jesus reminds us to do our good deeds so that even our left hand knows not what our right hand is doing. “And your Father who sees in secret will repay you.”
Give us Your compassion to help others who cannot help themselves out of the abundance You have give us.
