These things happened to them as an example.

1 Corinthians 10:10-11, Nor grumble, as some of them did, and were destroyed by the destroyer. Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

I have a friend, really a babe in Christ, who loves to run others down and to complain. While I know he is saved, he doesn’t realize the damage he does both to himself and others. And it makes me wonder what he says about me when I am not there! What an easy habit this is, to complain about others, our circumstances, even people we love. What would happen if we spent the time praying for others instead of complaining about them?

We thank You for giving us these examples in scripture that we may learn from them and not have to find out the hard way!
