Weep with those who weep.

Romans 12:15, Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

One of my teachers related to us the wonderful day of rest that he had enjoyed with his family, and what a wonderful time of peace they had in the morning. Then later that afternoon, he received a call from friends about their eight-year old daughter who is suffering from a potentially fatal disease and is not doing well. Most of us have no problem rejoicing with others, but sometimes we think we have to have the right words, or impart some great spiritual platitude. Paul teaches us that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us, no matter what the circumstances. Perhaps all we can ultimately do is sit down and weep with one who weeps; remember, “Jesus wept.”

We thank You that no matter what happens, You have saved us, and You are always there for us, when we rejoice and when we weep.
