Being content.

Hebrews 13:5-6, Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,” so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT SHALL MAN DO TO ME?”

His promise to never leave nor forsake us is one of my favorite, something I need to remind myself of frequently. Isn’t it interesting that in this context, he is encouraging us to being free from the love of money? And in the context of the original quotation, the Lord was encouraging Joshua who would lead the grown children of the Exodus into the Promised Land. He extends His marvelous grace to us, not only for eternal life, but also in this life. He is the One who numbers the hair on our heads, and He is aware of even a sparrow that falls to the ground. He is ready to help us!

Where our treasure is, there may our hearts be also!
