He is able.

Hebrews 2:18, For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

Jesus gave His disciples instruction in prayer, “Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.” It’s hard to think of Jesus as being tempted, and yet scripture is very clear that He was indeed tempted “in all things.” That means that He knows the reality of the very same temptations that we face, for He has faced them as well. What will it take for us to remember that He is ready to come to our aid when we are tempted?

Help me to take my eyes off of the temptation and keep them on You who are able to come to my aid, Lord Jesus!
