Blessed is she who believed.
Luke 1:45, "And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what had been spoken to her by the Lord."
Listening to one of my favorite teachers on the radio, I was struck by his observation that what the world sees as significant and what God sees as significant are two different things. God chose an unknown virgin in an unknown village to be the bearer of His beloved Son. His Son, who departed His glorious estate came into the very town of Bethlehem foretold by the prophets, due to the seemingly unrelated decree of the most powerful worldly kingdom of its day! He was not to be found in the palace or the temple in Jerusalem, but in an insignificant manger in an insignificant Inn with no rooms left. Could it be that God is ready to use some seemingly insignificant event in our own lives to change the world, to touch someone else for all eternity?
We thank You that it is not by our significant deeds of righteousness, but by Your great mercy that we are saved when we believe in the One You have sent!
