Thou art a gracious and compassionate God.

Nehemiah 9:30-31, "However, Thou didst bear with them for many years, and admonished them by Thy Spirit through Thy prophets, yet they would not give ear. Therefore Thou didst give them into the hand of the peoples of the lands. Nevertheless, in Thy great compassion Thou didst not make an end of them or forsake them, for Thou art a gracious and compassionate God."

We sometimes hear statements that God somehow changed from a wrathful, vengeful God in the Old Covenant to a gracious God in the New. Obviously, He is the One who never changes, but it is we who are ever changing and many times unfaithful to Him. Fortunately, even though we may cause much trouble in our lives by being disobedient to His word, He never gives up on us, He never stops loving us and never forsakes us. Thank God today that He is indeed gracious and compassionate!

I delight to do Thy will, O my God, Thy law is within my heart.
