Let it be done with zeal!

Ezra 7:23-24, "Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done with zeal for the house of the God of heaven, lest there be wrath against the kingdom of the king and his sons. We also inform you that it is not allowed to impose tax, tribute or toll on any of the priests, Levites, singers, doorkeepers, Nethinim, or servants of this house of God."

Isn't it fascinating that God used a foreign king to enforce what the nation was supposed to do in the first place, to take care of those dedicated to the service of God? The king wanted them to keep the commandments of God so that all of them might be blessed and avoid the wrath of God. God used this man to wake up His own people; let's do the right thing to begin with so that we don.t need this kind of guidance!
