We fear the multitude.
Matthew 21:24-27, And Jesus answered and said to them, "I will ask you one thing too, which if you tell Me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things. The baptism of John was from what source, from heaven or from men?" And they began reasoning among themselves, saying, "If we say, 'From heaven,' He will say to us, 'Then why did you not believe him?' But if we say, 'From men,' we fear the multitude; for they all hold John to be a prophet." And answering Jesus, they said, "We do not know." He also said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."
It seems incredible that the religious leaders overlooked the amazing miracles that Jesus did in questioning His authority. It is sobering to see their hardness of heart that leads them to fear the multitudes more than they fear God. We might pause to ask God to reveal and heal any such hardness of heart that might hinder our own walk with Him.
Reveal any of our own hardness of heart, we receive Your healing to change hearts of stone into hearts of flesh!
