How is He his son?
Luke 20:41-44, And He said to them, "How is it that they say the Christ is David’s son? For David himself says in the book of Psalms, 'THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND, UNTIL I MAKE THINE ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR THY FEET."' "David therefore calls Him ‘Lord,’ and how is He his son?"
It is certainly not surprising that they did not understand this, for His plan to rescue us is not something that we would ever think of on our own. Indeed, His plan to come as one of us, to be a descendant of David, makes no sense to the natural mind. How could He abandon His unbelievable glory, come not to be served but to serve, and then die an humiliating and painful death? It is the amazing plan of God, the only way to set us free.
Lord, we thank You for Your amazing plan to rescue us from the power of sin and death through Jesus Christ our Lord.
