Salt is good.

Luke 14:34-35, "Therefore, salt is good; but if even salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? It is useless either for the soil or for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear."

Jesus gives us shocking news that He is to be our first priority, over family, comfort, and possessions. We are to count the cost, and to recognize our need to make peace on His generouos terms. We are all well aware that one day when we depart this earth we will give up all our possessions, that we are now but stewards. Am I able to count the costs, to let Him be in control, to be His disciple? Am I salt and light to a decaying world?

Give us Your vision of our place not only in this world but in all eternity, Lord.
