The narrow door.

Luke 13:24, "Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able."

We know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father but by Him. And it is by His great gift of grace that we can come to Him at all, bringing nothing of our own except our sin. He wants us to take what He has given us, and "work out" our salvation, for there are others that perhaps only we can reach who want to know His amazing grace as well. That’s where the "striving" comes, certain Paul had that kind of attitude. He encouraged us to take it as seriously as an athlete, who trains his body to do what it does not naturally want to do, to strive to do our best for His name’s sake.

We take so many things seriously in life for joy that is fleeting; help us to take You and Your kingdom seriously for eternal joys!
