Plotting against Him.
Luke 11:53-54, And when He left there, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be very hostile and to question Him closely on many subjects, plotting against Him, to catch Him in something He might say.
Jesus was not afraid of the truth, of turning bringing into the light the evil ways of those charged with spiritual leadership in that day. Obviously, his candor brought out the worst in them, as it often does with us. Are we willing to sincerely ask Him to turn the light on our own lives, to show us our "hidden faults," which are really only hidden (or perhaps denied in rationalizations) to ourselves? And are we willing to bring it all before His mighty throne of grace, humbly receiving what He shows us? This is only possible by the power He gives us, otherwise we, too would join in plotting against Him.
I know that I need Your light, and Your truth, that I might have my mind renewed by Your Spirit.
