Blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it.
Luke 11:28, But He said, "On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and observe it."
Jesus turns our focus away from what our past blessings are to what He wants us to do now. What has happened in the past can be useful for building our trust in Him, but we don't want to miss what He wants to do as His word comes to life today. As we read and study scripture, we know that He is alive, and interceding before the throne of grace for us; and that He has prepared in advance those good deeds that lie before us today. Are we ready and willing to bring glory to God's name as we observe His word today?
Give us eyes to see what You have in store for us, to observe Your word, to bring glory to Your name!
