Do not invite your friends.

Luke 14:12, And He also went on to say to the one who had invited Him, "When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and repayment come to you."

Isn't it interesting, for that is exactly what He has done for us. We have been invited to His great feast, that goes on for all eternity, and we could never even imagine repaying Him. All He asks us to do is invite others, someone once wrote, "we are beggars telling another beggar where we found bread." Indeed, He is the bread of life!

You give us living water and Yourself as the bread of life, that we might live with You for all eternity! Help us to tell others what we have found in You, O Lord.
