He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
Luke 6:35-36, "But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful."
We certainly see His amazing kindness all around us, for the rain falls and the sun shines on the just and the unjust. And we know that He has loved all of us enough to send us His own Son, what greater love could there be? Even those who are completely hostile to Jesus Christ are loved. We who have received His love know that we are saved by His amazing grace, and not by "works of righteousness" that we have done. When it comes time to love our enemies, to expect nothing in return for being kind, what will we do? What could happen if we were simply more kind, even to our enemies?
I need Your help, for it is so much easier to lash out at an enemy than to see Your way of kindness; open my eyes to Your possibilities of the power of kindness.
