But just say the word.
Luke 7:6-8, Now Jesus started on His way with them; and when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, "Lord, do not trouble Yourself further, for I am not worthy for You to come under my roof; for this reason I did not even consider myself worthy to come to You, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed. For I, too, am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, 'Go!' and he goes; and to another, 'Come!' and he comes; and to my slave, 'Do this!' and he does it."
Our own culture seems to have lost touch with the concept of authority, perhaps many of us have been affected in subtle ways as well. In a country where we almost worship individualism we might be missing out on something very important, especially in spiritual matters. Are we willing to submit not only to the One who has been given all authority under heaven and earth, but to those He has called to lead us here on earth?
Put our view of authority in Your eternal perspective, that we may have the faith seen in this centurion!
