The fountain of living waters.

Jeremiah 2:13, "For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water."

We see two images; the first is that of God-given free flowing abundant living waters, fresh from the throne of God, ready to bring forth life. The second is that of a man-made limited size cistern, attempting to capture something deemed to be scarce, and failing even at that in its brokenness. Let us seek Him as the source of all life, and living waters in abundance.

We thank You for all of Your promises, for the abundant living waters that You have promised not only to the woman at the well, but to all who believe and call upon Your name!
