The guarantee of our inheritance.
Ephesians 1:13, In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.
We are sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, the very same promise Peter gave on the day of Pentecost, “and you will receive the Holy Spirit... for everyone whom the Lord our God calls to Himself.” Not by power, nor by might but by His Spirit are we sealed, the guarantee of our inheritance! Just as Paul said, we press on in His upward call, not that we have already obtained all that He has for us. Yet even so, we are sealed, secured, established, maintained not by our own power but by His Holy Spirit!
We give thanks that You have sealed and established us, that it is You who guarantee our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of Your glory!
