Fear not.

Revelation 1:17-18, When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, “Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one. I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

John walked with the Lord Jesus throughout His life, and saw Him humiliated, brutalized and crucified, then raised from the dead. And yet even he was not prepared for being in His presence as the ascended, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. We see Him as Jesus meek and mild in so many contemporary art, and not as the one who has conquered death itself, and who now reigns in His full majesty. He raised John up by touch him and saying “Fear not!” Are we even able to comprehend what it would be like to be in the glory of His presence?

We thank You that even in Your glorious majesty, You reach out and touch us saying “Fear not!”
