Encourage one another.

1 Thessalonians 5:8-11, But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Paul speaks in military terms, of a breastplate and a helmet, for indeed it takes little imagination to realize that we are involved in spiritual warfare. We are secure and can join with Paul in knowing that to be with Christ is better, but also that He has plans for us while we are here. And part of those plans include encouraging each other, no matter what our circumstances might be. Do we realize that all of our joy is in Him, no matter what our circumstances might be on this earth?
