Chosen and precious.
1 Peter 2:4-5, As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus who lived the perfect life, walking in the works that the Father had for Him, given the Spirit without measure was rejected and humiliated by those whom He came to rescue. It might be that we who follow Him would join with the Apostle Paul in filling up His sufferings. What a wonderful concept it is to see that even so, we are precious in the sight of God and being built up as living stones! We are called to be living sacrifices, for this is our spiritual worship. Are we laying down our lives for Him or for some other reason?
Fill us with the joy and peace that passes understanding; we give thanks in all things despite our circumstances.
