Paul thanked God and took courage.
Acts 28:14-15, There we found brothers and were invited to stay with them for seven days. And so we came to Rome. And the brothers there, when they heard about us, came as far as the Forum of Appius and Three Taverns to meet us. On seeing them, Paul thanked God and took courage.
We see the amazing power of community, the fellowship, the church for even Paul needed encouragement! One commentator observes that the use of the term “found brothers” instead of “found the brothers” indicates that these believers in Christ were not expected by Paul and his companions. Word of their arrival spread quickly drawing others to come from some distance to meet Paul and to encourage him. Do we recognize all the encouragement available to us from our community?
We join with Paul in giving thanks to God for our community of believers, and take courage as did Paul!
