In a single hour.

Revelation 18:9-10, And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning. They will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say, “Alas! Alas! You great city, you mighty city, Babylon! For in a single hour your judgment has come.”

We see today the interdependence of the governments and economic systems of Europe tottering as a house of cards, threatening to engulf the world in economic chaos. And the scene John describes is even more dramatic, with the collapse of the evil city of Babylon in one hour. Jesus reminds us that where our treasure is, there will our heart be also. Is our treasure in heaven, where it is safe from unfaithful kings?

We give thanks for our faithful King who will soon return to claim all of His own; use us today to further Your kingdom! Maranatha!
