Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great.

Revelation 18:1-3, After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was made bright with his glory. And he called out with a mighty voice, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place for demons, a haunt for every unclean spirit, a haunt for every unclean bird, a haunt for every unclean and detestable beast. For all nations have drunk the wine of the passion of her sexual immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

There is an end to the seduction of the pleasure of the world, represented by Babylon, for “there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Jesus has warned us that “the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and the pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world.” He warns in the parable of the sower about the seed sown among thorns, where “one hears the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful.” There are many who have pursued worldly pleasure to their own destruction and the destruction of their own families, Solomon being one of them. In Christ our position is with Him in the heavenly realms, yet our condition in a fallen world remains. Are we willing to accept the power that He makes available to us, to allow Him to transform our minds, to put off the old self which was crucified with Him? Am I willing to set my mind on things above, and to put on the new self “created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness?”

Come, Holy Spirit, fill me with the power that I need “to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness!”
