The Bride, the wife of the Lamb.
Revelations 21:9-11, Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.” And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great, high mountain, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, having the glory of God, its radiance like a most rare jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
We have other scripture that tells that the church is the bride of Christ, and here she is pictured as a magnificent, huge, jeweled and precious city. We who are the members of His body, who are living stones, know that our present condition is far from this glorious description. For just as Paul said, we do not do the things that we know we want to do and often do the very things that we do not want to do. But this struggle shows us that we are His own, and even as we often live in hypocrisy, it is Christ who redeems us and has given us His Holy Spirit to empower us! Do we take time to give thanks for all He has done and all He is going to do?
We give You thanks for all You have done, all You are going to do and ask for the overflowing of Your Holy Spirit for today!
