Eyewitnesses of His majesty.
2 Peter 1:16-18, For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased,” we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain.
The apostles like Peter went to their death rather than recant this kind of testimony. They have given us the gift of scripture, “carried along by the Holy Spirit,” that we may have this “lamp to our feet and a light to our way.” For truly these things were written that we may know that we have eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord! He is the way, the truth and the life. He was born of a Virgin, lifted up before men on a cross, died was buried and raised in new life, the first of many! Why not receive His amazing grace and look to Him and live?
We look to You that we may live!
